I used to be fascinated by Jim Morrison but then I realized he was just a drunk who thought he was a poet.

The same idiot drug dealer who was some rich jet set junkie who was a horrible dealer accidentally killed Janis Joplin and Morrison. The connection was through his girlfriend Pam Corsen( or something like that) this idiot French Count fled to North Africa after Morrison's death and died a year later. He was the drug dealer to many rock stars but occasionally didn't cut his heroin very well. Pam died 3 years later.

Yo, danfr2 I was just driving back from the pharmacy and I saw this cross over suv thing with a Spartans as in a custom order Michigan State license plate and it had Tubas written on it. My inner bully, thought band geek and Michigan State retard and I had my adrenaline up and then I saw something sad. A bunch of cars stopped and a man that wasn't moving and appeared to have been hit by a car.

I was deeply sad, because this is Michigan and if he lives he will probably be giving a ticket for Jay walking and also the hospital closet is a nightmare.
They steal. My dad had his wallet stolen once within an hour and his car keys. Also once my dad had to be hospitalized and my dad handed me his wallet and I took the hundreds out and left $92 dollars. As he said. We both counted it out 4, 20's, a ten and 2, ones. One of the paramedics stole it. Going to the same hospital.
What Is it with these scumbags. They are there to help but ; rob a sick senior citizen. They deserve the death penalty or at least have a hand chopped off like in Iran. No death penalty in this state.
I wish I knew who did it; actually it is best that I don't. But people can be so vile;d a cross over with a Michigan State license plate that says tubas. ( what it actually says is I am a band geek who couldn't get into U of M and the driver needs and atomic wedgie and an thermonuclear swirly( unflushed with diarrhea in it) but anyways that dude who got hit can try to sue but he was breaking the law and didn't remember to look both ways even though it is 3 to5 lanes going one way. He tried and lost at playing Frogger in real life.

Another dead mouse; the trapping part of my indoor hunting is a success, Jiff Crunchy really seems to get them. It is nice that he ate most of it. Kind of like a good last meal before a surprise execution.

I really feel good inside; pills and an hour later a decent meal.( for me)

The Who - TV's Most Surreal Music Performances
It's been said that you never get a second chance to make a first impression.

The Who played two songs on 'Smothers Brothers,' and the first one went off pretty much without a hitch. Opening with 'I Can See for Miles' from that year's 'The Who Sell Out' album, Pete Townshend and the boys turned in a pitch-perfect rendition of the tune -- helped, obviously, by the fact that they were miming along to a prerecorded version (because of its complex rhythms and vocal harmonies, the Who rarely played 'I Can See for Miles' live at the time).

It's when the Who ripped into my 'My Generation' that things really got interesting. Again, the band was miming its way through -- this time around it was little more obvious, thanks to the stuttering cadence of Roger Daltrey's delivery -- and they had some fun with it. By the second verse, Keith Moon was tossing his sticks up in the air during a lull in the drumming and catching them in time to keep the beat.

But it wasn't long until things descended into chaos. As the song fell into a free-form noise jam, Townshend went from using his mic stand as a slide, to stabbing his guitar into his amp, to throwing it around, to raising it over his head and smashing it. Moon knocked over his kit as Daltey grabbed a cymbal stand and swung it around; John Entwistle just stood there, plucking away on his bass and looking bored.

A series of pyro explosions filled the set with smoke, culminating with one massive boom that was so big it singed Townshend's hair and sent shrapnel flying (rumor has it that Moon bribed a 'Smothers Brothers' stage hand to load up his bass drum with three times the amount of explosives the band normally used onstage).

Just when it seemed things couldn't get worse, they did. As Tommy Smothers returned with an acoustic guitar strapped around his shoulder for the segment outro, Daltrey grabbed the instrument and proceeded to smash it to pieces, much to the obvious annoyance of Tommy. "Hey Dick, I'd like to borrow your bass for a minute," Tommy joked to his brother offstage. "I don't have a bass, but I have a band aid," Dick mocked back.

The performance by the Who in 1967 was another defining moment in the series. As the group often did during that period, the Who destroyed their instruments at the conclusion of their performance of "My Generation", with the usual addition of mild explosives for light pyrotechnic effect. The piece ended with guitarist Pete Townshend grabbing Tommy's guitar and smashing it. On the Smothers Brothers show that night a small amount of explosive was put into the small cannon that Keith Moon kept in his bass drum. But it did not go off during the rehearsal. The brothers soon found themselves in regular conflict with CBS's network censors. At the start of the 1968–69 season, the network ordered that the Smothers Brothers deliver their shows finished and ready to air 10 days before air date so that the censors could edit the shows as necessary. In the season premiere, CBS deleted the entire segment of Belafonte singing "Lord, Don't Stop the Carnival" against a backdrop of the havoc during the 1968 Democratic National Convention, along with two lines from a satire of their main competitor, Bonanza. As the year progressed, battles over content continued, including a David Steinberg sermon about Moses and the Burning Bush.

With some local stations making their own deletions of controversial skits or comments, the continuing problems over the show came to a head after CBS broadcast a rerun on March 9, 1969. The network explained the decision by stating that, because that week's episode did not arrive in time to be previewed, it would not be shown. In that program, Joan Baez paid tribute to her then-husband, David Harris, who was entering prison after refusing military service, while comedian Jackie Mason made a joke about children "playing doctor". When the show finally did air, two months later, the network allowed Baez to state that her husband was in prison, but edited out the reason.

Despite the conflict, the show was picked up for the 1969-70 season on March 14, seemingly ending the debate over its status. However, network CEO and President William S. Paley abruptly cancelled the show on April 4, 1969. The reason given by CBS was the brothers' refusal to meet the pre-air delivery dates as specified by the network in order to accommodate review by the censors. Ali registered for conscription in the United States military on his 18th birthday and was listed as 1-A in 1962.[56] In 1964, he was reclassified as Class 1-Y (fit for service only in times of national emergency) after he failed the U.S. Armed Forces qualifying test because his writing and spelling skills were sub-standard,[57] due to his dyslexia.[20] (He was quoted as saying, "I said I was the greatest, not the smartest!"[56][58]) By early 1966, the army lowered its standards to permit soldiers above the 15th percentile and Ali was again classified as 1-A.[9][56][58] This classification meant he was now eligible for the draft and induction into the U.S. Army at a time when the U.S. was involved in the Vietnam War, a war which put him further at odds with the white establishment.[59]

When notified of this status, Ali declared that he would refuse to serve in the army and publicly considered himself a conscientious objector.[9] Ali stated: "War is against the teachings of the Qur'an. I'm not trying to dodge the draft. We are not supposed to take part in no wars unless declared by Allah or The Messenger. We don't take part in Christian wars or wars of any unbelievers".[60] He also said, "We are not to be the aggressor but we will defend ourselves if attacked." He stated: "Man, I ain't got no quarrel with them Vietcong."[61] Ali elaborated: "Why should they ask me to put on a uniform and go ten thousand miles from home and drop bombs and bullets on brown people in Vietnam while so-called Negro people in Louisville are treated like dogs and denied simple human rights?"[62] Ali antagonized the white establishment in 1966 by refusing to be drafted into the U.S. military, citing his religious beliefs and opposition to American involvement in the Vietnam War.[21][59][63][64][65]

On April 28, 1967, Ali appeared in Houston for his scheduled induction into the U.S. Armed Forces, but he refused three times to step forward when his name was called. An officer warned him that he was committing a felony punishable by five years in prison and a fine of $10,000. Once more, Ali refused to budge when his name was called, and he was arrested. Later that same day, the New York State Athletic Commission suspended his boxing license and the World Boxing Association stripped him of his title.[66] Other boxing commissions followed suit. Ali remained unable to obtain a license to box in any state for over three years.[67][page needed] On June 4, 1967, in a first for sports professionals, a group of high-profile African-American athletes including Jim Brown, Bill Russell, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, as well as one political leader, Carl Stokes, assembled with Ali at the Negro Industrial Economic Union in Cleveland for what became known as the "Cleveland Summit" or the "Muhammad Ali Summit". The meeting was organized by Brown for his peers to question Ali about the seriousness of his convictions, and to decide whether to support him, which they ultimately did.[68]

At the trial on June 20, 1967, the jury found Ali guilty after only 21 minutes of deliberation of the criminal offense of violating the Selective Service laws by refusing to be drafted.[9] After a Court of Appeals upheld the conviction, the case was reviewed by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1971.[70]
Ali remained free in the years between the Appellate Court decision and the Supreme Court ruling. As public opinion began turning against the war and the Civil Rights Movement continued to gather momentum, Ali became a popular speaker at colleges and universities across the country; this itinerary was rare if not unprecedented for a prizefighter. At Howard University, for example, he gave his popular "Black Is Best" speech to 4,000 cheering students and community intellectuals, after he was invited to speak by sociology professor Nathan Hare on behalf of the Black Power Committee, a student protest group.[71]

On June 28, 1971, the Supreme Court of the United States in Clay v. United States overturned Ali's conviction by a unanimous 8–0 decision (Justice Thurgood Marshall recused himself, as he had been the U.S. Solicitor General at the time of Ali's conviction).[72] The decision was not based on, nor did it address, the merits of Ali's claims per se. Rather, the Court held that since the appeal board gave no reason for the denial of a conscientious objector exemption to Ali, that it was therefore impossible to determine which of the three basic tests for conscientious objector status (offered in the Justice Department's brief) the appeal board relied on, and Ali's conviction must be reversed.[73]
In a 1974 interview, Ali said, "If they say stand and salute the flag I do that out of respect, because I'm in the country".[74] Ali would later say, "If America was in trouble and real war came, I'd be on the front line if we had been attacked. But I could see that [the Vietnam War] wasn't right."[75] He also said, "Black men would go over there and fight, but when they came home, they couldn't even be served a hamburger."[76]

Impact of Ali's draft refusal�
Ali's example inspired many black Americans and others. However, initially when he refused induction, he became arguably the most hated man in the country and received many death threats. People who supported Ali during this time were also threatened, including sports journalist Jerry Izenberg, whose columns defended Ali's decision not to serve. He wrote, "Bomb threats emptied our office, making the staff stand out in the snow. My car windshield was smashed with a sledgehammer."[77][78] The New York Times columnist William Rhoden wrote, "Ali's actions changed my standard of what constituted an athlete's greatness. Possessing a killer jump shot or the ability to stop on a dime was no longer enough. What were you doing for the liberation of your people? What were you doing to help your country live up to the covenant of its founding principles?"[64]

Recalling Ali's anti-war position, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar said: "I remember the teachers at my high school didn't like Ali because he was so anti-establishment and he kind of thumbed his nose at authority and got away with it. The fact that he was proud to be a black man and that he had so much talent ... made some people think that he was dangerous. But for those very reasons I enjoyed him."[79]

Civil rights figures came to believe that Ali had an energizing effect on the freedom movement as a whole. Al Sharpton spoke of his bravery at a time when there was still widespread support for the Vietnam War:
For the heavyweight champion of the world, who had achieved the highest level of athletic celebrity, to put all of that on the line—the money, the ability to get endorsements—to sacrifice all of that for a cause, gave a whole sense of legitimacy to the movement and the causes with young people that nothing else could have done. Even those who were assassinated, certainly lost their lives, but they didn't voluntarily do that. He knew he was going to jail and did it anyway. That's another level of leadership and sacrifice.[80]

Ali was honored with the annual Martin Luther King Award in 1970 by civil rights leader Ralph Abernathy, who called him "a living example of soul power, the March on Washington in two fists". Coretta Scott King added that Ali was "a champion of justice and peace and unity".[81]
In speaking of the cost on Ali's career of his refusal to be drafted, his trainer Angelo Dundee said, "One thing must be taken into account when talking about Ali: He was robbed of his best years, his prime years."[82] Ali's promoter Bob Arum did not support Ali's choice at the time, but in 2016 Arum stated: "when I look back at his life, and I was blessed to call him a friend and spent a lot of time with him, it's hard for me to talk about his exploits in boxing because as great as they were they paled in comparison to the impact that he had on the world. ... He did what he thought was right. And it turned out he was right, and I was wrong."[83]

NSA and FBI monitoring of Ali's communications�
In a secret operation code-named "Minaret", the National Security Agency (NSA) intercepted the communications of leading Americans, including Ali, Senators Frank Church and Howard Baker, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., prominent U.S. journalists, and others who criticized the U.S. war in Vietnam.[85][86] A review by the NSA of the Minaret program concluded that it was "disreputable if not outright illegal".[86]
In 1971, Ali's Fight of the Century with Frazier was used by an activist group, the Citizens' Commission to Investigate the FBI, to pull off a burglary at an FBI office in Pennsylvania; the anticipation for the fight was unlike anything else, so they believed the security would also be focused on the fight. This raid exposed the COINTELPRO operations that included illegal spying on activists involved with the civil rights and anti-war movements. One of the COINTELPRO targets was Ali, and their activities included the FBI gaining access to his records as far back as elementary school; one such record mentioned him loving art as a child.[87]

Exile and comeback�
In March 1966, Ali refused to be inducted into the armed forces. He was systematically denied a boxing license in every state and stripped of his passport. As a result, he did not fight from March 1967 to October 1970—from ages 25 to almost 29—as his case worked its way through the appeals process before his conviction was overturned in 1971.[88]

Protesting while exiled�
During this time of inactivity, as opposition to the Vietnam War began to grow and Ali's stance gained sympathy, he spoke at colleges across the nation, criticizing the Vietnam War and advocating African American pride and racial justice. Ali based himself in Chicago.[89] According to most close to him, his Chicago years were formative.
At the time, Ali was widely condemned by the American media,[90] with fears that his actions could potentially lead to mass civil disobedience.[91] Despite this, Ebony magazine noted in the late 1960s that Ali's popularity had increased during this time, especially among black people.[92]

Metallica is an American heavy metal band. Prinze worked at several comedy clubs in New York City, including The Improv and Catch a Rising Star, where he introduced himself to audiences as a "Hunga-rican" (part Hungarian, part Puerto Rican). Although his mother was in fact Puerto Rican, his father was a German immigrant with Hungarian ancestry. Prinze's son, Freddie Prinze Jr., has stated many times that his father was half German/half Puerto Rican. This is also verified by census records as well as Prützel/Pruetzel family accounts. For the sake of his budding comedic career, he legally changed his surname to "Prinze". According to his friend David Brenner, Prinze originally wanted to be known as the king of comedy, but since Alan King already had that last name and sobriquet, he would be the prince of comedy instead. During 1973, Prinze made his first television appearance on one of the last episodes of Jack Paar Tonite. In December 1973, his biggest break came with an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Prinze was the first young comedian to be asked to have a sit-down chat with Carson on his first appearance. Prinze appeared on and guest-hosted The Tonight Show on several other occasions. He also appeared on The Midnight Special to perform his comic routine.

From September 1974 until his death in January 1977, Prinze starred as Francisco "Chico" Rodriguez in the NBC TV series Chico and the Man with Jack Albertson. The show was an instant hit. Prinze made several appearances on The Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts, most notably the roasts for Sammy Davis Jr. and Muhammad Ali. In 1975, he released a comedy album that was taped live at Mister Kelly's in Chicago entitled Looking Good—his catch phrase from Chico and the Man. In 1976, he starred in a made-for-TV movie, The Million Dollar Rip-Off. Prinze had a little-known talent for singing, examples of which could be heard in the background of the title song of the Tony Orlando and Dawn album To Be With You, in his appearances on their variety show, and on rare occasions on his own sitcom. About four months before his death, Prinze signed a five-year deal with NBC worth $6 million.

Prinze suffered from depression. On the night of January 28, 1977, after talking on the telephone with his estranged wife, Prinze received a visit from his business manager, Marvin "Dusty" Snyder. As the Times also chronicled, "The young star's psychiatrist and personal secretary had visited Prinze and left around 2 a.m. Friday — shortly before Prinze's friend, business agent Marvin Snyder came in answer to a phone call from the distraught actor. It was during Snyder's visit, police said, that Prinze called his parents and his wife. He hung up, pulled the pistol from beneath a cushion, and fired into his right temple."
