A lot of people feel John Lennon was the greatest song writer of his generation. I am one of them. Was a dick in real life, but the greatest song writer ever. I always felt for Julian.

Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. is the debut studio album by the American folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel. Following their early incarnation as rock 'n' roll duo Tom and Jerry, Columbia Records signed the pair in late 1963. The album was produced by Tom Wilson and engineered by Roy Halee. The cover and the label include the subtitle "exciting new sounds in the folk tradition". Recorded in March 1964, the album was released on October 19.

The album was initially unsuccessful, so Paul Simon moved to London, England and released his first solo album The Paul Simon Songbook. Art Garfunkel continued his studies at Columbia University in his native New York City, before reuniting with Simon in late 1965. Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. was re-released in January 1966 (to capitalize on their newly found radio success because of the overdubbing of the song "The Sound of Silence" in June 1965, adding electric guitars, bass guitar and a drum kit, which was done under the direction of producer Tom Wilson without the duo's knowledge), and reached No. 30 on the Billboard 200. It was belatedly released in the UK two years later (in 1968) in both mono and stereo formats.

The song "He Was My Brother" was dedicated to Andrew Goodman, who was their friend and a classmate of Simon at Queens College. Andrew Goodman volunteered in Freedom Summer during 1964 and was abducted and killed in the murders of Chaney, Goodman, and Schwerner.

The album is included in its entirety as part of the Simon & Garfunkel box sets Collected Works and The Columbia Studio Recordings (1964–1970).

"Richard Cory" was based on the poem "Richard Cory" by Edwin Arlington Robinson, "Somewhere They Can't Find Me" was essentially a rewrite of the previous album's "Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M.", "We've Got a Groovy Thing Goin'" had appeared on the b-side of "The Sound of Silence" a few months before and "Anji" was a cover of an instrumental piece by guitarist Davey Graham whom Simon had met in England. Hence the only brand new Paul Simon composition on the album was "Blessed".

The album is also included in its entirety as part of the Simon & Garfunkel box sets Collected Works and The Columbia Studio Recordings (1964–1970). On March 22, 2013, it was announced that the album will be preserved by the Library of Congress in the National Recording Registry, calling it "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

Anytime I did psychedelics I always had Pink Floyd playing. When I got my brand new CD player I was so happy because I could have one of their CD's on continuous loop.

The Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67, also known as the Fate Symphony (German: Schicksalssinfonie), is a symphony composed by Ludwig van Beethoven between 1804 and 1808. Like Beethoven's Eroica (heroic) and Pastorale (rural), Symphony No. 5 was given an explicit name besides the numbering, though not by Beethoven himself.

Chicken is ok sometimes, but it is very fine line. I like whole rotisserie from oven and I can eat unmarinated breast steak seasoned well, but that's pretty much it. They sometimes give me marinated strips in the food share and it is last think I eat from the fridge when I am starving.

The Rolling Stones came along, and Nothing any of The Beatles ever wrote or recorded can compare to, Paint it Black, Gimme Shelter and of course Satisfaction. The Beatles were not bad, but after the British Invasion was in full Swing and IMO The Who, Led Zeppelin, Pink Flyod, Jimi Hendrix( yes American born in Seattle, but got famous and also died in England). And a number of other bands came along The Beatles seem very dated and didn't really write many if any legendary songs, IMO

Too many bands from that era such as The Doors and eventually Black Sabbath
made the Beattles seem tired and lame very quickly. Also the Beatles have a lot of hits but they don't have really any truley epic songs. Their songs were to pop radio, IMO. They don't really have many if any songs to compare to:

My favorite singer Bob Seger: only had regional hits and really hit big in 70's.
But the list of those songs are too long to list. He is the most under rated singer song writer ever. He did a cover of CCR'S Fortunate Son on the Like a Rock album that is better than the original. His hits were mainly in the 70's and 80's but if you listen to his huge list of great songs people are shocked at how great he is and under rated.

It was tough back in the stone age. We actually had to do math in our heads when we bought stuff to make change. The pocket calculator did not come out until 1970. Even then how convenient is it to pull out a calculator every time you want a candy bar? They were not cheap either. It cost about $400 to buy one. Now they are common and given away.

The thing that intrigues me about music is that it can invoke emotion. The classical stuff I put up here has no lyrics. We are only hearing sounds and rhythms and we are having emotional reactions to this stimulation of our environment.

You are one of the main reasons I have a disease for this page. Back in school the nuns would have us round it to 3.14 and then multiply, divide, add and subtract other numbers by it. All with a pencil and paper. Whenever we did math it had to be by pencil, so we could erase our mistakes. The only time we can erase our mistakes is when they are on paper.

Some are great and some are awful. I tend to react to others by how they treat me. I have actually been trying to be good. I was down to one undeserved point from 6. Then a new mod who will remain name less gave me a point I didn't deserve. Usually I would get warned for worse things and That mod said I gave him a warning also; without a point.

Had a lot to do today, but I am snowed in because the city didn't plow my street
and I just know it is too deep and all those trucks creating ruts and higher plateaus of snow. Getting stuck on one of them and digging my car out for a half hour.

There is always next week. So how are you doing? Anything new going on with you?

This was also music in 1962, the year the Beatles appeared and "broke" most of the rules for music (even Jazz and Blues).
Some people may not like the Beatles but they shook the very foundations of music theory. Each and every album they changed and evolved music further. If that had not occurred we'd still be listening to pre-1962 music.

I'd say my def is when you've agreed to see if something is worth a real relationship. Get to know the person, tell them you are interested and if they are to, then that's when a hangout becomes a date.
I don't like to just assume something is a date, there's gotta be a verbal agreement that it is imo.
That's why I say that people can't really date till 13. Before then you don't have to much of a concept of the difference between really being inspired and attached to a person as a friend and the difference between admiration and romantic attraction.

I watched my dad stab my brother with a fork for this very transgression and the only person who was bothered about this was my brother.

5 mins later he made both parents a cup of tea and stuck the boiling hot spoon to the back of my dad's head. My dad was the only person who was bothered about this situation.

That day we all learned 2 things. Actions have consequences and we are a family with psychopathic tendencies.

Edit I quoted the wrong post and made it sound like my dad stabbed my brother for engaging in a sexual relationship with a sibling instead of stealing food off a plate. I am on a roll today.

Horrible thing is Brendon gets all the credit. Amazing voice, but the first two albums (the best ones) were almost completely written by Ryan Ross. Every album after he left the band got worse. Still love vices and virtues, death of a bachelor, and a few songs off of too weird to live to rare to die. After that its all crap. Only like 2-3 good songs on pray for the wicked and the latest album is completely and utter garbage

I was talking entirely about his ability to sing and play instruments I have zero clue about any of the other stuff and have always felt like the lyrics were over rated but yeah fair.

That band always sucked. I was in high school when I write sins not tragedies came out. Then they started playing it on mtv and that's when all the preps and jocks started getting emo haircuts. Emo was pretty much dead at that point tbh.
