During their brief three-year career, the band released four albums: Fresh Cream (1966), Disraeli Gears (1967), Wheels of Fire (1968), and Goodbye (1969). Beginning with Disraeli Gears, the band was joined in the studio by producer and multi-instrumentalist Felix Pappalardi. Their music spanned rock styles such as blues rock, psychedelia, and hard rock. Throughout their career, they sold more than 15 million records worldwide. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cream_(band)#cite_note-7 The group's third album, Wheels of Fire (1968), is the first platinum-selling double album. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cream_(band)#cite_note-BBC-8 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cream_(band)#cite_note-classic-9 They scored international hits with singles such as "Sunshine of Your Love" (1967) and "White Room" (1968).
Tensions between Bruce and Baker led to their decision in May 1968 to break up, although the band were persuaded to make a final album, Goodbye, and to tour, culminating in two final farewell concerts at the Royal Albert Hall on 25 and 26 November 1968 which were filmed and shown in theatres, then in 1977 released as a home video, Farewell Concert. Bruce died in 2014 followed by Baker in 2019, leaving Clapton as the only surviving member of the group.
In 1993, Cream were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cream_(band)#cite_note-10 They were included in both Rolling Stone and VH1's lists of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time", at number 67 and 61 respectively. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cream_(band)#cite_note-11 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cream_(band)#cite_note-12 They were also ranked number 16 on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cream_(band)#cite_note-VH1's_100_Greatest_Artists_of_Hard_Rock-4

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Disraeli Gears is the second studio album by the British rock band Cream. It was produced by Felix Pappalardi and released on Reaction Records. The album features the singles "Strange Brew" and "Sunshine of Your Love".
The original 11-track album was remastered in 1998, and then subsequently released as a two-disc Deluxe Edition in 2004.
Unlike the previous Fresh Cream, which was vocally dominated by Bruce, the vocals on Disraeli Gears were a more democratic affair. Clapton sings lead on "Strange Brew" and "Outside Woman Blues", plus co-lead on "World of Pain", "Dance the Night Away" and "Sunshine of Your Love". Baker, meanwhile, performs lead vocals on his composition "Blue Condition" which the others encouraged him to write (an outtake features Clapton on vocal). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disraeli_Gears#cite_note-superman-10 All three band members sing together on "Mother's Lament".
The album Disraeli Gears was released on 2 November 1967 by Reaction Records https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disraeli_Gears#cite_note-notes-14 and was a big commercial success, reaching No. 5 on the UK Albums Chart, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disraeli_Gears#cite_note-ukcharts-15 No. 4 in the US and No. 1 on the Swedish and Finnish charts. The album was also No. 1 for two weeks on the Australian album chart and was listed as the No. 1 album of 1968 by Cash Box in its year-end album chart.

Professional ratings
The album was highly praised on release. Melody Maker stated that it was "a quality-heavy, propelling package of incredible Cream superpower. Clapton's guitar menacing almost like a machine gun, sometimes eerily and overpoweringly persuasive as it reaches serpent-like deep into the Cream's varied and hypnotic musical journeys."[23] Disc & Music Echo raved it "shows the completely individual way the group is developing from their early blues days", pointing out that all the songs are "more or less perfect and it's merely a matter of personal bias which you think is best."[24] In the United States, Rolling Stone gave a largely positive review, noting it displayed a more original direction than the debut album with "miles of listening pleasure" in tracks like "Strange Brew", "Sunshine Of Your Love", "SWLABR" and "Take It Back" but also critiquing that the album "does not totally hang together" where "in some tracks the material is too pale to support the heavy instrumental work which makes Cream such an overwhelming trio".[25]

Eric Clapton has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times:
1992: As a member of The Yardbirds
1993: As a member of Cream
2000: As a solo artist
Clapton is the only musician to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times. He is considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
Clapton has also sold 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling musicians of all time.
Clapton has expressed some dissatisfaction with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, calling it a "frat boys club". He has also said that he doesn't agree with some of the organization's decisions.
